found beauty from this old paint
I start leaning Ikebana since 2009.
I'm learning Ikebana, but also leaning about how to find beauty from things.
The point of vies helps me to think to myself positively.
All students get same flowers and branches during lesson, of course the works become all different.
(different shape of materials x different students = different results)
If I have chance to chose materials, I always take 'good branch' which I can find beauty line easily.
One day, I couldn't get 'good branch' during Ikebana lesson.
I have no idea how to show this one nicer. took sometime to see it. but still couldn't find good line from it.
I gave more patient to see it even turned it many times on the vase. Finally I could find some good line during this slow movement.
The scales fall from my eyes!
There is always beauty even you don't think/feel. I just need to see it from everywhere and need to give bit of trimming.
If I think to myself with this idea, could think about myself kindly than before. still need to find the 'good line', but at least I know there is the line.

いけばなを習い始めてからしばらくになるが
ある日のレッスンから自分のことをほんの少し前より好きなった時のことを話せたらと思う。
いけばなのレッスンでは課題ごとに花や枝を与えられて作品をつくるのだが
どの生徒も同じ素材を与えられるのだが、当たり前に同じ形の花や枝はなく、作者も違うのでそれぞれが個性的に仕上がっていく。
特に枝は私が勝手に「あたり」「はずれ」とおもう素材があって、選べるのなら自分が確実に仕上げられるような
かっこいい枝をそそくさと選ぶ。素材がよければ私の技術がなくても綺麗に仕上がると思っている。
そのある日のレッスンは自分では絶対に選ばないタイプの枝しか残っていなかったので
その「はずれ」で作品を作ることになった。
いけばなをするときはその素材をじっくり見て、その中で見せたいラインを選ぶ。
その「はずれ」を見てみると全然どこを見せていいのかわからない。
あまり考えずに花器の上であっちやこっちに向きを変えながらそのポイントを探す。
すごく微妙な動きの中でその枝にも美しく見えるポイントが見つかり、その日の作品も私の気に入るものに仕上がった。
「どんな素材にも可能性があるんだ」と本当にびっくりした。
じゃあ、自分が素材だとしたらどうなのだろうか？
「あれもいや」、「これもいや」、と他人との比較の中で長い間苦しんできたが
ぐるぐる回せばどこか見応えがあるポイントが見つかるんじゃないか？という可能性があることに気づいた。
まだぐるぐる回していてカチッとくるポイントは見つかっていないが、あの「はずれ」の枝のようにもう少し温かく自分をみてあげられるようになった。
