The concept of the catering is 'INORI'.

INORI is prayer in Japanese. The catering is inspired by beautiful works from Scheltens & Abbenes and their book 'ZEEN'. In the book, I've found this sentence; 'How without using words, do you penetrate to what you might call the essence of things?'.

I've thought it's perfect to serve Japanese New Year's Day dishes for this party as my wishes for guests without words. Because those ingredients, cutting way and colours have meanings that wishes for your health and wealth. Those traditional 'Edible wishes' made by Japanese ancestors.

彼らの本「ZEEN」にこんな一節がありました。

「言葉を使わずにどうやって本質を捉えるのか？」

すぐにおせち料理がぴったりだと思いました。

おせちを準備しているここ数年の間におせち料理は「食べる祈り」だと気づきました。ご先祖様が磨いてきた祈りのかたち。

こんな時代だからただただゲストの健康と豊かさを祈りたい。

言葉を使わずにそれを表現する洗練したかたちとしてこのおせち料理が文化としてあることに心からありがたいなと思いました。
